I have done our taxes for nearly 40 years, with Turbo Tax for last year and the year before that. For those years, it worked really great and I was sold. This year they changed the interface and prompts. I can't say how much I hate it. I am taking it back for a refund. I am better off doing it by hand. On another site, 82 out of 90 reviews gave it one star out of a possible five for this year's version. If you don't know how to do taxes, definitely don't get Turbo Tax this year. The interface is clumsy. The lack of prompts is critical, because prompts remind you of income and deductions you may otherwise forget. They almost had a perfect version last year, then it looks like they gutted it and made it difficult to work. Insufficient explanations do not help, so again, if you aren't a tax accoutant, don't bother with this year's version.
